Coding and decoding borders a new antiatlas exhibition

The exhibition «Coding/Decoding the Borders» aims to represent the complex reality of border changes at the dawn of the
21st century. Combining collaborative productions developed by hard and social sciences scientists, practitioners and artists, it also offers to skip barriers between fields of knowledge. This exhibition presents artistic productions that incorporate digital tools (such as immersive installations, or Internet art), choosing borders and the crossing of borders as the main subjects. This exhibition does not only aim to expose the mutations of contemporary borders, but also seeks to make visitors aware of the significant impact these changes have on their lives.

L’exposition « Coder/Décoder les frontières » vise à rendre sensible la réalité complexe des mutations des frontières au XXIè siècle. Associant des productions élaborées en collaboration entre des chercheurs en sciences humaines et en sciences dures, des professionnels et des artistes, elle propose aussi un véritable décloisonnement entre les champs de la connaissance. Cette exposition met en scène des productions artistiques qui intègrent les outils numériques (comme l’installation immersive, ou le net art), en prenant en particulier comme objet les frontières et leur franchissement. Elle ne vise pas seulement à exposer les mutations des frontières contemporaines, mais cherche également à interpeller les visiteurs pour souligner combien eux-mêmes sont directement concernés par ces changements.
